Photographer Opens a Studio in Draper, Utah - Studio Underground
My name is Samuel Jake and I am a photographer and filmmaker based in Draper, Utah. In future blog posts, I will be sharing my work, experiences with my clients, and personal thoughts I have about my life and profession as an artist. I am trying to be more connected in the art community and I hope that my efforts and plans will be effective in reconnecting with others after the Pandemic. After more than a year of secluding ourselves from each other, I am excited to connect with amazing people again.
I recently have been putting more time and effort into the professionalism of my digital media business. As an artist, it can be difficult to prioritize and be consistent with everything that is required to run a small business. There are so many jobs to do every day and at times it is really easy to push things back. As I grow older, I continue to learn and put in the repetitions to rebound from a very difficult year in 2020.
Something that I have done that has helped my business in amazing ways is opening up a Photography Studio in Draper, Utah. A few partners and I have teamed up and have made a Bookable Dark Room Studio complete with furnishings and lighting included. The name of the Studio is called “Studio Underground Draper” and our instagram is @studioundergrounddraper. Our website has pricing and more details of the space. We post promotions, tips, and different photography lighting techniques on our social media via our posts and stories. Be sure to follow to learn more about the space and lighting for photography.
Our vision at Studio Underground is to create a space for Artists to have full control of their creativity. We have an interesting vibe with exposed brick and a variety of unique furnishings and backdrops. We feel there isn’t another photography studio in the Salt Lake area that has as much character as we do. We feel it is important to connect with different artists for inspiration and want to give artists a voice to inspire others. We hope to create a community of artists and want to accomplish that by having a YouTube and Podcast hosted by myself.
I am excited to get to know more people in the art community. We hope to connect with artists like dancers, musicians, painters, etc. at the events we are planning for the future and on the podcast. After a year of not meeting a ton of new people, I am excited to do so at Studio Underground.
Here is a video of a Medium Formal Film Photographer in Studio Underground. Film Photography is so fascinating and is a great way to express yourself. Unlike digital photography, it is difficult to recreate a shot or feel because it isn’t instantly reviewable. I have a huge appreciation for film photography and often use it for my personal photography to express myself in a different way. When I think about the past, I visualize how difficult it was to get certain shots with manual focus and other barriers. it amazes me how much technology has developed and I still yearn for the original feeling I experience when I look at film photography. Nothing can replace it.
